Unfortunately due to user error, stamps can sometimes be damaged when attempting to drive a load. This seems to crop up every few weeks.

In that regard check out the attachments below.

The file names should be self explanetory.
804 x 542 - 50K
661 x 467 - 36K
352 x 305 - 28K

yeah, i have never used a transistor to swich a load, standard practice for me is using a MOSFET.

    plus i don't use a 100k that leads to signal degredation i use a 10k.

oops, and i use a 1kv diode between the gate just incase high voltage punches through.

and in my case i think a 100k lets the input float too much 10k ties it down really well.

I use the "No brainer" circuit (IRL 540 and 10K Gate-Source) to fire IR LEDs for distance object sensing.

With the BS2SX the command is:
    FREQOUT PIN, 1, 15000

Then there is a 10 to 20 msec delay before I repeat the sensing.

Once I tried to reduce the delay between sensing to less than 10 msec and smoked the Stamp pin (actually, five pins for five IR LEDs).

I assumed that at 37.5 kHz, the capacitance of the FET gate was loading the Stamp pin too much.

    Comments?
