Sin and Sout

Can the debug serial output of one Javelin be connected to the serial input of another? I am wondering if things printed with System.out.print are sent unmodified, or if there are magic bytes also being sent on those pins (say, to differentiate debug output from debugger information.)
Since I have one Javelin talking to another, being able to use the debug pins to allow them to talk to each other would in effect save me some Uarts - which I could find better uses for. Thanks.

get its voltage swing to rs232 level.
Also, the sout pins echoes whatever is received by sin.
