SUMO BOT SX/B Fun !!

Hello All :-)

Well last night I tried to control some servo's and it works. So tonight full of confidence and building on the Servo Controller I decided to see if I could read a couple of QTI modules.· http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28108· and that worked to !!! With Servos and QTI's it was time to push a little more and build the start of a SUMO BOT. I will bet that NO ONE will have a SX/B Sumo Bot at the RoboGames in San Francisco this year :-) Please see Photos and Source code so far. Gotta go Hacker's bed time and he is demanding treats in only the way a cat can. Top of his lungs :-)

Guenther's book has robot code that will modulate IR sensors and run two servos in the ISR, and if you are willing to run the SX at 8 MHz you can get the code to work in SX/B -- no assembly.· The program I've attached is a few months old, but should be easy to update to 1.2.

Ok david, now I am convinced your sending things out for anodization, or do you have a homebrew system, if so its a pretty professional job.

Umm, Dave, it sounds like you've entered the world of competitive robotics.

You might not want to post pictures and code until AFTER your robot has won, no?
Otherwise you are training your competitors.

I hate to say this stuff, as I really appreciate your posting the information. Just a thought.
