SX20SS with Altera stratix SPI loader

Hi
I do not know if this the right place to ask a support question.
I bought SX20AC/SS·which is·pre programmed with Altera Stratix loader.
It was designed to work with (Stratix 672 SmartPack) Parallax Stratix SmartPack - EP1S25-6 and·program M25P80 STMicroelectronics | 8 Mbit, Low Voltage, Serial Flash Memory With 40MHz SPI Bus Interface. I liked their design and used it in my design.
I called Parallax support and asked if I can use·loader with the next bigger memory M25P16 STMicroelectronics | 16 Mbit, Low Voltage, Serial Flash Memory With 50MHz SPI Bus Interface, and I was assured that it will work with both memories.

I assembled my board with M25P16 but the SX20AC/SS loader complains that the chip M25P80 is not loaded.
I wired in the M25P80 chip (different package and pin-outs) and it works fine.

Here is my question
·
1) Is loader·supposed to work with M25P16?
2) Is there a way to add the new chip M25P16 ID code to original LOADER program?

3) If the answer is yes can I downloaded·and program SX20AC/SS into the chip using my Stratix chip·to load a small programmer program and program the··SX20AC/SS.
·
4) Or do I have to un-solder the chips from board and buy a board from you to program it?
5) Or I buy SX20AC/SS chips with new loader and replace the chips on my board.
