BS2 button question. please help

Hi!!!
I am doing a BS2 project· , this project requires several different voltages for different things that need powering.·· I have a 12+ and 6+ regulators on the board
I am hoocking up the bs2 to the 12+ and letting it use it's own on board regulator
for it's 5+
now this involves some pins that i'm using for input, I have the pin connected to ground via a 10k resistor. so, i guess this means that that pin will see a 0.
taking it high I only have the 6+ to drive it up. my question is can I use the 6+
too drive it up or will that extra 1 volt be enough to do damage, and if so should I
first put the 6+ throue a resistor before connecting it to the pin for a high signal?
I don't know if I explained myself right or not.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
Jose

If your pull down resistor is 10 k you can drive the input pin high from VDD, pin 21 on the Stamp. Pin 21 can deliver about 50 mA max from the internal regulator on the Stamp.
