LCD info

yo everybody...
i am some what new to the basic stamp game and i am very interested in using a stamp to control a lcd.
the interface to the stamp seems fairly simple depending on the lcd. but the programing is a bit above my head. it seems like it might be nessecary to know binary code. is this true? i have many more questions as well.·it would really help me out if someone could direct me to some good info on how·to set up and program an lcd.

FYI parallel interface LCD's are usually less than $15, while serial LCD's are usually more than $40.

My honest opinion, if you are working with any kind of microcontrollers, its a good idea to know binary code. That is of course if by "binary code" you mean converting decimal numbers>binary and back. There are TONS of pages out there that explain binary conversion.
