can anyone suggest some places to source parts from?
i dont mean actual sx chips, but the extra parts that are used in projects such as those on sxlist.com
i am hoping to find a place in australia that i can source parts from, or at least once that ships to australia without having to pay prohibitive shipping/handling costs. the only places i know of in australia are dick smiths and jaycar, neither or which carry what i am after most of the time :P
i usually only want to buy 1 or 2 of these items at once too.
i am particularly after the 74LCX125 as used in the usb project "california dreaming"
and also the ADC08831 as in the oscillator project.
thanks in advance :)

a utility that helps you track down a specific part is
www.findchips.com
as per OZ specific, future electronics has distributors in your neck of the woods: http://www.futureelectronics.com/1033/contact/branches.asp?Cont=Australia&Val=Australia·and thier product line looks like they may have what your looking for. Theres also www.arrow.com . You can look into companies that are nearer to you than the states in countries such as Japan, Hong Kong or Singapore, some sites may have an english version of thier pages. Finally you can ask Dan at dan@dansdata.com (a fellow aussie) he's more of a gadget-man but hes pretty good at ferreting out info (like find alternate distributors in OZ).
Hope this helps,
Paul
What about a visit to your local Dick Smith Electronics? With 190 stores they must have one in your neighborhood. I know they are probably overpriced, but at least you can get components quickly. Most OZ customers seem to be ordering via U.S. Airmail from the component distributors (who also sell our line) identified by Paul above. Doesn't the Silicon Chip magazine give you some good surplus sources as well?
