How can use the LCD screen from a Motorola Advisor pager in BS2 projects?

Tx

I'm going to guess you won't be able to directly.· The LCD displays in many commercial devices, especially those in in Cel-Phones and Pagers do not usually have controllers built-in.· If you're still interested I can point you to a chip designed to control these types of displays, but it will probably be difficult to interface since these types of LCDs usually also have non-standard layouts for the connections, and even then you usually can't connect a wire to the display.· Most of the ones I have seen have a special carbon/rubber pressure contact which connects them to the PCB.

Well, you can use a Serial or Parallel LCD on the BASIC Stamp.· Obviously the Serial LCD uses less I/O pins.· You could also buy a surplus LCD and add a serial backpack to it.· At least with a standard display you'd have more options.· Have fun!
