Any suggestions on where to buy a decent dc motor.
Looking for 6v motor for my project. I would prefer something like a kids riding car motor but with a lot less power consumption and possibly some type of encoder on it.

If you change you source voltage to 12 volts or 24 volts DC you'll find a lot more in the way of motors of the type you're seeking. The amperage requirements of larger 6 volt motors make them almost prohibitive for smaller projects. 80% of the weight in a smaller 6 volt DC platform may end up being the battery weight. No sense chewing up battery power just to move the BATTERY!
