im keen to order the sx tech kit, but am still tossing up whether to order the plus or lite version.
i had hoped to get one in time to enter the design contest, but by the looks of things i wont get it and have anything done by the end of the period. (altho i am keen to order a kit asap). anyway...

i would be getting it shipped to australia, what would the different be in shipping costs for each kit?

if shipping the books works out to be too expensive, can you get an ebook version of them?
(i dont mind if paying $10 for ebook versions, altho i would prefer hardcopies)

lastly, i notice you have a cd-rom for sale (well $0 atm) http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=27000
does this include these books in ebook format?

thanks
loser

ps at the bottom of http://www.parallax.com/sx/index.asp·you still have the price for the tech kit as $129.

Guenther Daubach's book is NOT available in electronic format. The Al Williams book is -- you can download it from our web site.

    Dear Loser,

I asked my Sales Manager for a quote on USPS shipping to Australia:

45181 would be around $85.00 and 45180 $65.70, but this is based on your actual zip code. But we should be able to ship an SX-Key ($79) alone for less than $10.00. Also, check with RTN, our local distributor. He imports in bulk to save shipping costs.

Even though, I'm often astounded at the cost of our products in Australia. It seems only worse in India, where they have a tremendous tariff (200-500%?) on products that are built on printed circuit boards.

hmm i hadnt actually noticed the 'distributors' tab on your site before, thanks for the tip.
it turns out i have already been in contact with the australian distributor without realising (after just searching on google, and am currently waiting on a cd-catalog to arrive.)

they quoted a price of AU$163 delivered to me, which definately works out cheaper than ordering from the site, i didnt realise the postage costs would be so high, US$65!! wow.

so i guess ill be ordering from the aussie distributors.
thanks for the info, looking forward to coding some stuff on the sx soon.

btw does the parallax cd-rom i mentioned earlier contain any sx stuff not available on your site?

    thanks

    Loser,

No, the CD-ROM is based on all downloads on our web site at the time of publication. The web site always has more updated documents than the CD-ROM.
