Javelin Socket Extraction

What is everyone's perferred method for extracting the Javelin from a socket? Because of the large amount of static friction holding the Javelin in you will end up making a quick jerky movement once it frees possibly damaging the pins. I've tried using an old plastic airplane propeller from my r/c planes to get underneath of one side and Torque it a littlebit to free one side and then Torque a little on the other side until it's free. This seems to be the most effective way I can get it out of the socket without damaging it. I don't think a CPU extraction tool would be any help here because of two reasons: Sensitive parts underneath the IC, and If one side Frees itself from the socket before the other you end up with One side of bent pins. Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions? Stories?

Yes: Mount the Javelin in another socket. Then, plug THAT socket into and out of the breadboard. Thus you'll be prying on the socket, not the Javelin. If you get a bent pin, only then do you need to remove the javelin from that socket and replace it -- much cheaper than replacing the Javelin.

I saw some sockets that fit the javelin, but all of the ones I've seen are the standard short pin type designed for inserting into a PCB for soldering. Thus, I've found that plugging a socket with short pins into another socket doesn't work very well, that is to say it's not held in very well, a good bump to the socket could cause it to come out. Are you using some other type of socket with longer pins than the standard ones?

You could get a wire-wrap socket. That would have pins that are about an inch long.

I've got an IC puller from RadioShack.. but you have to be careful with it since the javelin has traces on the edge..

Ok. I inserted the Javelin and didn't know it was going to be so hard to get out. Now that it's stuck in there, how do I get it out without damaging?
