Official Basic Stamp I Documentation And ShiftOut

Hi,
·· I have a Basic Stamp I and I have been hunting around for the "official" documentation.· I've found many version of PBasic documentation on line, but often it isn't clear which commands are only supported by the BS II.· Is there one document that applies just to the BS I?

Also, the reason that I am looking for this is to use the Shiftout command to control a serial potentiometer.· Is the the Shiftout command supported by the BS I?· Also does anybody have a good step by step example of how to use a BS I with a serial potentiometer (such as this one http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1335&dDocName=en010495)?

Our help file always has the latest information, and it clearly shows (as the manual does, I believe) which commands are compatible with which BASIC Stamp module.· SHIFTOUT is not a native command in the BS1.· That said, one can still write code to perform that function.· Have a look at the article below; it should be helpful.
