Need a Hall Effect circuit diagram

I want to use a hall effect sensor to detect a magnet. Basically just a on/off (not a tachometer). I saw the app note for the BS1, but it seemed short on details (or maybe I just don't understand it).

Does anyone have a simple diagram for using a hall sensor to detect the presense of a magnet?

Although it senses rotation, passing the magnet across the sensor for on/off control could work with the same circuit.
