javelin first impressions
Hi
I've just got my javelin working, I've been a stamp-type user for quite a while. I've used the stamp 2, 2sx, BasicX-24, and the Atom pro 24. I decided to get the javelin because of the 6 UARTS (the basicx24 and the atom pro are limited to 2 or 3, and even then the timings get kinda iffy).
Anyways,
1) THe hole on the javelin board is there because of what? Usually the hole is on the side that has pin 1. THis had me confused for a while until I looked on the forums and people said to look at the diagram. WTF is up with that? THere isn't even a hole in the diagram. I suggest that the makers of the javelin move the hole to the other side, where pin 1 is, or at least have a white dot. FOLLOW THE BASIC STAMP CONVENTIONS!
2) I think it would be nice to have 2 LEDS on the javelin board itself. There were two on the basicx24, and they were a lifesaver....especially if i'm using a carrier board that doesn't have LED's on it.
My 2cents....now off to learning this thing. cya
