Just found this product on the web. Seems aweful cheap comparitevly.

Its claiming to be 100% stamp compatible, "Just a bigger version."

http://www.hvwtech.com/pages/products_view.asp?ProductID=13

for $~50 Canadian, seems like a really good deal. Does anyone have any experience with these guys or with the products?

HVW is a Canadian company. They seem to be building OEM-type BS2's and BS2sx.

Make sure shipping costs aren't a problem for you. I've ordered some stuff from them. They are good, reputable vendors of BS2 OEM stuff.

And by 'Bigger', they don't mean more memory or faster, they just mean physically takes up more real-estate.

    Johnny,

The primary concern you should have relates to compatibility with Parallax boards. The width of that module prevents it from being used in any of our boards. If you just want to work with a breadboard then this should be fine.

By the way, if you just want to save some money watch eBay. You can always get a Parallax BASIC Stamp on eBay (sometimes from us, or our customers) at about 75% of the retail for a new one.

If size isn't a problem, Parallax currently has a sale on their BS2 OEM kit for $30. You'll need to solder it yourself and the finished size is 2" x 2". Available here http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=27291
