Is my basic stamp 2 dead or broken?

Ok, I got the "Robotics with the Boe-Bot" this Holiday and I started setting it up. But when I got to the communication part it would say Loop back "Yes" and Echo "No". So I went to the trouble shooter and I tried the whole list and it still said the same thing. But it never addressed that problem.·What should I do?

Do you have sufficient power? The Loopback test says that the IDE can see the connection, the lack of Echo means that your BASIC Stamp is not responding to the IDE. Also, double check the way the BS2 is installed in the BOE socket -- this is critical.

Check to see if you have any PDA or Palm Pilot devices on your machine, if you do please disable them at the "Hot Sync" button near the bottom of your screen near the clock.· Make sure to check for any software that uses a com port and to disable it.
