Assembly instructions

Please excuse a newbie question. I just received my BOE BOT. Al sorts of great documentation. No assembly instructions. How do I obtain these instructions? One other question. The Stamp book states: "use 4 Alkaline batteries" Is there any reason not to use NiCad or NMh or Lithium Ion? All are rechargeable and should save $.
Thanks for your patience.
Glen

Not sure why you don't have Installation Instructions...Mine all came with them...But I will answer your battery question...

Modern rechargeable batteries, such as Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries run at 1.2V per cell instead of 1.5V as traditional Alkaline batteries do.· Therefore there's not enough voltage to run everything properly.

Yes, RC car people have found 4 x 1.5 volts (Alkaline) to be equal to 5 x 1.2 volts (NiMH). So, if you can find a way to add a fifth NiMH battery in there somewhere, you should be able to use the NiMH with no problem.

Don't use 5 Alkalines, nor go more than 5 NiMH, because there IS voltage sensitive stuff (especially in the Servo electronics) which can be damaged above 6 volts.

Assembly instructions are in Robotics with the Boe-Bot.

·* Chapter 1, Activity 3 & 4·- software and BASIC Stamp hardware setup.
·* Chapter 2, Activity 3 & 4 - servo calibration that should be done before assembling your Boe-Bot.
    ·* Chapter 3, Activity 1 - Boe-Bot assembly instructions.
