Servo ruined

Im in a group and we're working with the basic stamp homework board and the parallax standard servo. Its always worked fine for me. I left my group alone with it one day and i came back and it was fried. They just told me it didnt work. Would they have had to plug it in backwards, or off by a pin, would that have ruined it?

Thanks

Backwards AND off by a pin would reverse +5 and ground -- which should pretty well destroy TTL circuitry, yes. The Servo has built into it a TTL comparator to help it do its work.

On the other hand, now you have a source of spare servo gears. Sorry about that.

    Hello,

We have seen from experience here that if you over voltage the servo·with 9v battery,·that it will damage the servo.· There are built on 220 ohm resistors on the HomeWork board which prevent the stamp from damage.
