Does anyone know of a good free schematic drawing program?

    Hi,

    This might be more for the Sandbox but here goes. Try Eagle PCB. You can draw scematics and PCBs for free. And, the learning curve is not that steep.

    I'll second the vote for EAGLE, most emphatically, as well as the Sandbox.
