How to wire a voltage regulator?

I need to know how to wire a 3v voltage reg, it is a small one, looks like·a transistor.· So far I havent had any luck.

    Well, without knowing the exact device, I can only guide you just so far...Assuming (This is a guess without knowing the device part #) it is like a standard 78L05, if you are holding the device with the flat side facing you, pins aimed down, then it should be as follows...

    Left leg should be Vin
    Middle leg should be GND
    Right leg should be Vout

    As Jon is always saying: "You should always have the datasheet handy for·any part you are using in a project."

    Okay, well maybe it's not an exact quote...tongue.gif
