how to use a membrane pad?

How do I use a membrane pad? Like what pins do I hook it up to? How do I make the on/off on it work? How do I program it to work?

I have a 2 button membrane pad. Button one is the on/off and button 2 is a button that I need so when its pushed it goes to a certain mode.

There is in depth instruction on this in the stamp manual, just look under "button".
I have used this to a small degree, and is pretty basic stuff. They have a sample schematic that shows how to wire it to the stamp, just need a resistor, and any i/o pin will work.
There are lots of parameters you can play with depending on what you want to do, such as branching, state high or low,etc. Not too hard to figure out.
