DB9 (RS232) connection to a breadboard

Does anyone have or know about a clean way to connect a DB9 or serial connection to a breadboard? At the moment I pull my BS2SX out of the breadboard and place it in a parallax activity board to program it, then I have to place it back on the breadboard to run my application. I know there has to be a better way to go about this while leaving the stamp in place on the breadboard. I can make an adapter I guess but I know there has to be a cleaner (maybe a premade plug in DB9 made for a breadboard) way to go about this.

Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.

The BASIC Stamp Manual has information for connecting a DB9 to the BS2 on your own board.· If you search the messages, I think this has come up quite a few times before, and Jon has posted the schematic in each reply.

I'm a fan of Peter Anderson's 10-pin headers with their ribbon cable (DB9 on one end, 10 pin connector on the other with one wire removed). See http://www.phanderson.com/stamp/starter.html

The headers just go into the breadboard like anything else.

The RS-1 that Al Williams has looks good for a more finished look.

Thanks for all the advise and pointers. I'm not sure that I need the Al Williams RS1 as that is built right into the design of the BS2SX, am I correct? I think asp2 or the header last mentioned is really what I am after.

Yes, if you are attaching to the built-in programming port, you don't need a MAX232 (the RS1). All you need is a wiring connection.
