BS1 Tach application - replacing dual 4013 flip flop w/ single

I'm looking at using the Tachometer application in the "Basic Stamp 1 Application Notes", using a hall effect transistor and the 4013 flip flop.· This circuit uses 1/2 of the flip flop IC, since it is a dual.·

Is there a single flip flop IC that I can use in place of the "1/2 4013" solution presented in the manual? · I don't want the expansion capability and would rather use a single flip flop.

Thanks,
Donivan

Why do you want "a single flip-flop IC", you need the pin space?

As far as I know, you're not going to a package with fewer pins.

This is going on the BS1 Rev Dx board, so yes I was hoping to save board space. But if they are all 14 pin, then like you said...not saving anything...
