Relay speeds

Can relays be used in an h-bridge with pulse width mudulation?· Im asking this because it seems that there would be some delay in the relays that would mess up performance.

    If you find a specific relay on Digikey, or any other large electronic parts distributor, the data sheet for a relay should identify response time, and also note that mechanical relays have a limited number of cycles.

    I would not think you should use relays this way, no. They have quite a 'bounce' time (several milliseconds?), and the whole idea of PWM drive of an electric motor is that the 'flywheel' effect of the motor averages out the rapid AC of the PWM signal. Then, you'll be interrupting current to the motor -- not the best use of a relay, as arcing will reduce the life of the contacts.
