EMIC

I just got my EMIC and its working fine except for one area - Aout.

I'm a bit confused - there is an Aout pin on the EMIC but the sample program
indicates the freqout for the DTMF example is being generated by the Stamp.

My question is, to hear the DTMF tones would I connect my Audio AppMod to the
Stamp Aout pin and ignore the Aout pin on the EMIC?

Thanks

Sid

The Emic Aout can be directed to an amplifier, but most of the time the
onboard amp will do fine. Just connect an 8-ohm speaker to the SP+ and
    SP- connections.

To hear the DTMF tones generated by the BASIC Stamp you need to filter
the output and run that to the Ain of the Emic.

Along with the product docs, this article (from Nuts & Volts) will
    probably help you:

I'm using the EMIC in my past project, and I needed to build the
filter (shown in the documentation) to get the DTMF working. Now it
works just fine. If you have more detailed questions, let me know,
but my page detailing my project will be up soon.

    Ryan,

I bought my Emic when they were first released by Parallax, but
hadn't played with it yet. With all the recent discussion I decided
to pop it onto my NX-1000 board and play around with it using some
sample code. I must say, I am very impressed with this device for
    the cost/size/simplicity.

Of course, Jon William's comment in Nuts & Volts 108 about the
speech sounding like "Mother" in Aliens has me wanting to throw in
my DVD to see how close it really is! =)
