Qaidskey -
In general, shielding the source of any EMI or RFI is far more effective than waiting until the field, signal or noise reaches the processor. Sometimes this is possible and sometimes it's not. You don't mention the suspected source of EM radiation, so it's a bit difficult to offer specific advice.
Two items that may be of interest to you depending on the requirements are:
"Mu metal" and "Faraday cages". Here is a basic definition of Mu Metal:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mu-metal and here is some information on Faraday Cages:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage
Small amounts of Mu metal can sometimes be recovered from older TV sets, as it was often used as a shield around the picture tube. Faraday cages or shields can be as simple as a hollow cube made of copper screening, properly sealed/enclosed by soldering or welding, and containing the apparatus to be protected.
I'm sure additional information will be forthcoming if you expand on your specific requirements a bit.

the source would actually be from an electromagnetic generator (a
small one). so ill look into these faraday cages.
thanx! and any more advice is welcome as always.
