The 24LC256 is an I2C device, and won't work on the BS2 without a lot of
programming effort. I have a program for an MCP23016 device, which is I2C,
modified for a BS2. It will give you a rough guide to writing a similar program for
your EEPROM but I warn you it takes a bit of effort. You are welcome to it
if no one has a better solution.

Sid

    Hi:

Anyone have a source file for a bs2 that will program a 24LC256
external eeprom? There used to be such a file on the high tech
garage site but that appears to have vanished.

I can just barely wrap my head around this thing and programming it
    myself is fraught with danger.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Cheers

    MacQ -

I sent you a copy of the program you are seeking off-list.

I did an Nuts & Volts article on I2C interfacing with a stock BS2 back
in May of 2002 -- one of the demo programs is the 24LC256. You can get
the article (PDF) and code from our web site.

    Hi,

I got this bs2 file from another stamper ... he had played with it a bit, but I changed a few things back and it works like a charm.

Will upload it to the files section...
