Ok guys I have posted a few times on this board but I'm more of a lurker. I learn from reading.
But I'm a little confused about something. Will the Memsic chip work somewhat like a gyro. Meaning with it sense the tilt angle from zero?
Just trying to figure out the sensor needed for a project I'm working on.
Thanks,
James Long

means of measurement) then yes it should.
You should have an X,Y axis....meaning that you get 2 readings from your
sensor at any one time. Put it flat on a surface and you should get 0,0 or
some NULL value (if it's 0 to 255 then you might get 128 or whatever the
middle is to that!).
Now take the sensor and angle it in one direction only and what do you
get....one value changing while the other one changes??!!
I can't remember the specs on my sensor (which is an ADXL210 from Analog
Devices) but it would change so many points per degree tilt.
There is also a way to determine acceleration/velocity with the sensor
moving in a certain direction with time.
Anyhow....just thought I'd answer you although it might not be the answer
that you want or that necessarily means anything to your sensor.

I THINK the memsic is based on the sliding air bubble isn't it? anyhow....I
have my stamp/sensor mounted on the BOE which are mounted in a small project
box.
I didn't take enough care to mount them straight in the box or when I
mounted it to a radar dish.

I'm messing around with my website at them moment so if there's no images
(like right now) then try back.
But basically, I've got a constant offset from the way I mounted my box.
Being that I'm outputted to a computer running a monitoring program, I can
put an offset in the PC rather than climbing up and doing it to the stamp.
