Nuts & Volts - ideas for articles

One of the re-occuring threads on here is how to use a MOSFET and how
to connect a relay.

I'm not sure if you can 'review' the basics on a column.

another idea is LED's.
there is an occasinal question as to how to pulse and LED to get
higher brightness or use multiple LED's on on pin.

connecting an LED on a switch input or relay/transistor output.
It is neat to have an opto or switch input and corresponding LED to
indicate the status of the input. ditto for transistor and relay
outputs.

These may be simple articles but it seems the ideas have some
application.

Another article that would be more education than anything else is
how to read a product spec sheet. That may be way too extensive for
one article.

Another item I rean across recently was how to wire an alarm
circuit. What is the best way to wire the switches and how do you
know if the switch is the correct state or the wire is cut/shorted.

And of course there is the timing of stamps and stacks and pause and
timing loops.....

As an addendum to the 're-occurring threads', perhaps a column on different
flavors of PWM. H-Bridges seem to appear on a regular basis as well in the
    stamp forum.

My column has more to do with embedded programming than with hardware.
There are other areas of the magazine that cover those things.

How about a short version on encoder software? I just want straight
and degree turns! You have the hardware now!
