Eb500, BS2 and a nokia 6600

Hi all,

I have recently connected an eb500 to a bs2 to connect it with a
nokia 6600 bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The list command finds the
nokia 6600 no problem, using the address found I issue the connect
command to the eb500 from the bs2, the phone responds with a dialog
box asking for a passcode to authenticate the connection! Does
anybody know what the authentication code is for the eb500? I get the
same result if I try to pair the phone with the eb500 & also I have
tried to connect the eb500 with a usb bluetooth adapter connected to
a pc which also asks for an authentication code. Any ideas? I have
asked parallax for help who refered me to e7eng but sadly to date
after a number of e-mails a7eng have not responded. Any help would be
much appreciated.

Tom.

The eb500 doesn't use password authentication. There is no password. In the
properties dialogue box for the Bluetooth connection on your pc there
usually is a check box named "Secure Connection", and the default is 'yes',
so you have to change that to 'no'.

Tom,the code means nothing at all.

if you put the same code in your cell and the same in your bs2 it will work.Like if you put the number 1 in the cell you must put number 1 in bs2. Only same number can do the connection.

But if you read the manual of nokia you can put your bs2 as a trusted source.like if your bs2 is trusted from your cell it will never ask you for a code and the connection is always open.So you must read Nokia's manual and read how to make advises as trusted.

    Thats all.
