Regarding Serial Port on BS1 Project Board

I was wondering if there was a way to access the serial port located on the BS1 Project
Board for serial communication, similar to how stamps on the Board of Education can
access the serial port by specifying pin 16 in serial commands.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

that includes text and processor status -- it's very differenent from
the BS2 family. Your application will have to filter the packet to
extract the information you want.

I was just thinking: couldn't I just use a debug command to use the
serial port?

Jon, in your statement regarding DEBUG, you mention that, and I quote,
"DEBUG on the BS1 is at 4800 baud and is a large packet (near 100
bytes) that includes text and processor status". I am curious about
that part, "processor status", how can I find out more about it?

Let me reiterate again that we don't document the BS1 DEBUG stream -- you're on your own if you want to work with it. I'm sure some clever group member will create a program that will display the status of the packet and figure it all out.
