I have seen 2 ways to make cables for the BS2, one with resistors (cannot
remember exacully) inbetween the computer and the bs2 and one with no
components, just cables.

Anyone have a cable that I can buy from them?

thanks-Lee

Do I need to use a cross over cable when I do a pin out like this: DE9 end:
    serial line 2 > BS2-IC pin 1
    serial line 3 > BS2-IC pin 2
    serial line 4 > BS2-IC pin 3
    serial line 5 > BS2-IC pin 4
    serial line 6 >serial line 7

I would of loved to bought a cable to do this for me, but I haven't found
    one...

    thanks for the help

If you go to Parallax and download the schematic of the BOE, it will show you
exactly how the serial cable is wired to the Stamp.

Interesting, they use caps... The other examples (even in "Programming and
Customizing the Basic Stamp Computer" by Scott Edwards) doesn't use caps..
    oh well

It doesn't say on the webpage, but I am suppose to use a straight through
    serial cable, right?

    thanks!-Lee

Use the caps. Let me reiterate ... USE THE CAPS! While you can get
away without them when using just the BASIC Stamp editor, as soon as you
connect something else you will have problems. Even we learned the hard
way and recently revised one of our older boards to put the caps on it.
    Use the caps.
