problem downloading to laptop

Hi group,

I just got a second hand toshiba satellite laptop and when i identify or
try to download a program to my bs2 can't recognize the stamp or echo.

I thought there had been a message posted about this but could n't find
it. Is there something I have to change on the laptop. I tried a few
things, like changing the com's, and trying to change some things in my
config system etc. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions or
message number would be a huge help.

The serial port's FIFO settings must be set to
ZERO -- NO FIFO -- for a Toshiba laptop to talk
to the BS2 successfully.
