Stamp not responsive

I have the Boe-Bot kit and my stamp no longer responds to the BASIC
Stamp Editor. The board currently just loops the last program I
uploaded to it. When I go to upload a new program I recieve the "No
Basic Stamps Found" , when I attempt to run the Identify feature it
tests "yes" on loop and echo but no longer provides stamp info. I
was advised that a low battery issue could be the cause so I
switched out the batteries but to no success. Any help would be
greatly appreicated.

I've had that problem quite frequently (in fact, it happened about an hour
ago), and it's nothing to do with battery power, as I have seen it when
working off a mains powered supply.

Evidence suggests that: it is something to do with the relative order in
which

(a) The Stamp Editor app is started
(b) The BS is connected to the serial port
(c) The BS is powered

I have generally found that some combination in some order of

(a) Power-cycling the BS
(b) Switching to another serial port

will restore communications. This is annoying, and it would be good to hear
from Parallax whether this is a known issue (I have never had it happen with
a Javelin, but then again, the Javelin IDE is very different to the Stamp
Editor).

there looping... eh.. I tried what you mentioned below but to no

Is there a yahoo group for the Javelin? I didn't see one, and I'm wondering
if anyone else is getting the error "[Java Error] TheRoom.java(0): Error:
Type java/lang/Double was not found" out of the Java IDE. I'm sure I'm not
trying to use any floating point math...

No response from Parallax support. :/
