Wireless Modems?

Has anyone come across any wireless modems that can integrate with
the basic stamps? I'm trying to dial into a unit located at a remote
location so that I can pull sensor data off without having to trudge
out there and do it manually.

Kind Regards,
Eric

Try www.maxstream.com. The 9XStream modules are very easy to use, and have
great range. With a simple dipole antenna, you can get >5mi of range. With a
better antenna, you can get >20mi of range. Low power, and not too
expensive, either. Super easy to integrate - RS-232 data in one side, and
    RS-232 out the other.

Not associated with Maxstream, just a very happy customer.

I have several MaxStream wireless radio modems and use them when I
cannot get a phone signal. Their range can be up to several miles
depending on the antena's selected. However, I need to communicate
with a Basic Stamp that is in another state (several hundred miles
away) and therefore need to communicate through a cell phone link.
I've been using the 1XRTT protocol for another unit but that really
requires a windows operating system which I use in that
application... but hey... you can't beat the speed (100,000+ baud)
The regular wireless phone modems go at about 9600 baud which is what
    I'm after.

So any ideas on a wireless phone would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Eric

Have you looked into the Cermetek modem kits Parallax
    carries? http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=29116

They aren't super fast, but they are phone line type modems, and
they have excellent app notes on using them.

Cermetek has many other options http://www.cermetek.com/
