Noisy Boat

I want to use a Stamp to control 3 drive motors in an r/c model boat…
basically to act as a mixer, taking output from a 2 channel radio to
control the rudders and the 3 motors in interesting ways.
My first trial was a bit glitchy, though I'm not sure where the
problem was. I have caps on the motors, but I imagine it's still a
noisy environment.
Questions:
Are Stamps themselves likely to be bothered by noisy environments?
I can imagine picking up noise in the leads connected to the I/O
pins… any techniques to minimize these effects, besides physical
distance from the power leads?
Thanks,
Pat M

The stamps can be bothered by noise if the spike are high
enough. When you stated glitchy, is the stamp resetting or are you
getting false triggers or jumpy returns from the RC receiver?

ESC's/motors. Didn't deep-dive it, as I'm rebuilding it in a new
incarnation. Just wondering how best to protect from noise in the new
build.

Odd it seems like it is getting reset and false triggers. You
might want to try a bent piece of aluminum that is ground. This is
placed between the motor driver and the stamp. If this still shows
errors you might have to use some opto isolators www.Jameco.com carries
them.

Symptons were: dead in the water, and odd jumpy behaviour from the
ESC's/motors. Didn't deep-dive it, as I'm rebuilding it in a new
incarnation. Just wondering how best to protect from noise in the new
build.
