Which DAC are you using and who makes it ?
The answer that you will eventually see is to pad the data (perhaps with nulls)
to get as many extra clock cycles as it requires. It will be important for
anyone helping you to see what the chip will accept for data, particularly when
it is hoped that the data will be ignored. This sounds much more difficult than
it actually is, but it's quite device dependant. Thus, the need to know which
chip you are using.
