Newbie needs help with QRB1134

I am new to this activity, and have the Boe-Bot which I am trying to
get ready for a contest next month. My line following with CDS
sensors wasn't good enough, so I bought 2 QRB1134 ir transceivers.

Does anybody have a input circuit & program for these guys? I have
checked the archives and couldn't find one. I'm afraid my tinkering
will blow something.

Looked at the Boe-Bot manual on distance & object detection, but
wasn't sure that would fit. Do all ir detectors require the 38.5 k
modulation to work?

Thanks
jmokie

No. All IR pairs don't need to be modulated. But, If you read through all the
BOE-bot info there is discussion about adjusting the modulating frequency to
alter the detection range. Essentially extending or limiting detection range. I
used the BOE bot docs suggested wiring and it worked great. I tried a similar
route to you trying to get Radio Shack IR pairs to line follow with limited
results. It was amazing the mess I created trying to get two pairs of LEDs to
function. It turns out that things like proximity to the floor/track and the
proper angles of incidence and reflection.Oh yeah a modulated IR pair has some
    immunity to ambient light.
