Tank Tread Kit

Has anyone else installed the Tank-Tread kit on their
Boe-Bot? I got mine installed no problems, however I
have a large assortment of pieces left over...There is
no mention in the manual of what these go to?
Jon? Have you played with this kit yet?

Well, as I said, there's nothing wrong with it. It
looks as though enough parts were included to use it
something else as well, like a Sumo-Bot or something.
Because the remaining pieces are mostly smaller
versions of the ones used in the instructions. Ah
well. If you get one Jon, let me know what you think.

Jon, would it be asking too much, to release the stock number of the
Tamiya standard tank kit? I've got a feeling that I've seen one
before. Your suggesting that the kit for the BOE-Bot, is based on one
of those makes sense. I looked over the parts kit, from the web pages.

Now that makes sense...So then this would be the same
parts for another kit that uses treads...Interesting.
Jon, do you know if the tread belts themselves will be
available separately in the event that one gets
damaged? I doubt I would need to replace the plastic
or metal, but I would guess the rubber would get some
wear. On the regular BOE-Bot wheels you normally get
an extra set of rubber.

Gregg, now that Jon mentions it, it really looks like
the plastic and rubber are from a standard tank model
of some sort, since the leftover parts look like what
you'd use in a tank model.
The interesting thing to note about Parallax doing
this, is they've also given all of us the ability to
adapt this kit to our own chassis, since there are
enough parts to come up with something even if you're
not using the BOE-Bot platform. I know I might try it
if I get another kit in the future.

mention in the docs about the extra parts: "The remaining wheels are not
used." This statement is preceded by an instruction on which wheels to

The Tank Tread Kit includes a Tamiya Track & Wheel Set #70100*500
The treads or individual replacement parts are not sold separately.
For extra parts, we recommend purchasing the kit mentioned above from a
Tamiya supplier.

I just checked with the office and according to my source, there IS a
mention in the docs about the extra parts: "The remaining wheels are not
used." This statement is preceded by an instruction on which wheels to
