Does anyone know where I can purchase female connecters that mate to
0.1" male headers? I can find gobs of the male connectors, but the
femal counterpart eludes me.

    Are you talking wired connectors ?

    You can buy housings and crimp pins from almost any supply house.

    Here is a page of the Jameco catalogue that shows them in the upper
    left.

    These were not polarized, but you can easily find ones that are
    polarized in one way or another. 5 pins, with 4 conectors and one
    missing pin can make it so the plug can only go on one way.

    Watch out, the housings are cheap, but you can spend bux on the pins.

    I checked your site, but could find no reference to male headers or
    female connectors. I only saw a few connectors, such as a DB9.
