Quadravox chip upgrade?

Greetings all.
Forgive me for asking this without completely researching it, but
this is a spur of the moment question.
I've got a QV306M4P which I haven't done much with, however I just
had an idea about something to send to some of my friends in
Iraq/Kuwait. Basically, I hope to record a number of jokes and
stories from our unit comedian and send it over, using a stamp to
randomly select and play a file. So far so good (Thanks for the
clear demo Jon).
What I'd like to do though is increase the recording time from four
minutes to one of the longer chips (possibly a 4003-08). However,
from briefly looking at the datasheet I see some of the timing and
sampling rates are different. Since I don't have the Quadravox in
front of me, I'm not sure if these are implemented in software or
hardware (specifically XCLK and the sampling rate).
Has anyone tried this? I'd sure be interested in your experience.
Thanks,
Brian

QV306 expects a particular device to be in place.
