BS2p24 and I2C Devices

Hi Guys. I'm glad I stirred up a discussion. It was most
enlightening. I can see why Parallax would not provide me with an
upgrade over the net and instead have me send my stamp back to them.
They build fine products and I'm against hacking anyway. For the
price of a 12 pack of beer I can send my p24 back to them for upgrade
so it's no big deal. This is a neat group and I'm glad I joined. I
am surprised though, that it looks like no one else has run into this
problem. On a side note, my p24 would not run the AAG 1-wire weather
station I bought either, I guess for the same reason. It would be
fair if authors and manufacturers would advise buyers of the firmware
rev required of the p24 to operate their products. I spent weeks
trying to get the weather station to work and just gave up and put it
in the closet to figure out another day. When I get my stamp back
with the upgrade I am sure it will work fine. Many of you must have
p24's or p40's that are 3 years old like mine. Anyway, Jon told me
to send an e-mail to Parallax support, which I did so we'll see what
happens.

Thanks again for all the comments. Doug

Not so ... I've used the BS2p with older versions of the AAG, but even
then it was iffy. We bought three units, and only one of them actually
worked. Some have had better luck....

My weather station is V3.0. One thing I think is different than the one
reviewed In the N+V article is that the Wind Direction indicator uses 2 magnets
instead of 1 for the DS2450. Anyway, It was the wind direction I had trouble
with. It would only display 1/4 of the directions. But like you said, the
    station may be broken. Doug
