Basic Stamp control of flexinol

I should be grateful for any advice about controlling
flexinol 'muscle wire' using a BS2. I intend to use a darlington
array - ULN2803 - to switch the current to the wires. I understand
that once the wire is heated, a pulsed supply can maintain the
contraction. Has anyone any experience of flexinol control using a
Stamp?
