access to the reset pin

I've got a BS2P40 with the P40 professional demo board. Is there
anywhere on the board where I can tap into the RESET pin on the stamp
so I can reset it with an off-board switch?

There is not *easy* way to do it (no wire socket like for other IOs).

Hmmm. Okay, thanks for the info. Looks like I'll have to
improvise. That's half the fun of designing anyway... :)

The ATN line on the DB9S serial connector hooks to the processor
reset pin via an inverting transistor. You can thus do a reset by
bringing DTR high on a PC, or do the same thing an external switch.
There might be some interaction if both a PC and a switch are active
at the same time. Some of the Parallax development boards have
capacitors between DB9 pin 4 and the Reset transistor, but I don't
know if that is true of the BS2p pro demo board. One way or the
other, it just changes the circuit picture a little.

By the way, notice that on the Debug screen, there is a check box to
set the state of the DTR line. You can use that during your
development to cause a reset.

Besides what Tracy mentionned, I think there is a reset button on the
demo board, isn't it? You could tap the reset line from the contacts
of the reset switch.

Yeah, that's what I've done. It just doesn't look as neat and clean,
but it works fine.
