BS1 motor control

I have a BS1 that I wanted to use to control motors for an electric scooter like
project. I wanted to use an analog joystick to control the motors and if
possible intigrate some type of speed control. Can anybody give any links or
suggestions? I was also curious of what kind of DC motor would be the best for
a project such as this?

    Been there. Done that. :-)

If you start with a scooter (Take a look on Ebay.), you'll have most,
if not everything you'll need. Then it's just a matter of replacing
the scooter's pot with your own home-rolled speed control.
