    Hi Tony,
    Thanks,
Right stuff. Wrong sizes. need little units. 3 to 6 inch strokes. I have
several here from the 80s. but no part identifiers on them at all. I
bought them from ORA Electronics in CA. They appear to be out of business
    as of 99 or 2k.
I have never seen them from any other vender.

    Tom -

See if these meet your needs:
    http://www.ultramotion.com/products/digit.php

I don't imagine there's any "bargain" pricing on these babies however.

    Tom -

Here is another idea for a source of linear actuators. This price is right, but
the length of throw isn't indicated:
    http://www.12vp.com/item_Power_door_lock_actuator.htm

I ran across a number of web sites offering similar products, but none of them
seemed to have datasheets to view the throw specifications. Perhaps power doors
locks is still an avenue worth pursuing.

    Regards,

    Bruce Bates

Ok, Right quality level, Throw is less than two inches and not positive
    position.

They operate with a flywheel. that grabs the pistin . this allows the user
to press the door lock button without resistance.

    Good try.
