BS2sx instruction speed!

i have a problem of the processing time of BS2sx. I'm using the
BS2sx for image processing purposes. The algorithm used in the image
processing is quite very long. Can i improve the speed of
instructions/sec? Any changes in external hardware to improve the
speed of processing time? Please kindly give your idea here.

thanks for the help.

regards,
lewis

There's nothing that I can think of that you could add other then perhaps a
high speed coprocessor (say an SX programmed in assembly running 50MHz turbo
would definitely make short work of the algorithm) in order to boost
performance. You could possibly over clock the BS2SX but that in itself
wouldn't be easy and would probably cause problems. Your best bet would
probably be in investing in a BS2P24 which is completely pin compatible with
the BS2SX so it wouldn't require any circuit modification and the BS2P is
    about 2,000 instructions/sec (~12,000 instructions/sec) faster then the SX
(~10,000 instructions/sec). Well anway that's just something to think
about, good luck with your project!
