SV: [basicstamps] using the stamp to control a portable cd player

Greetings!
There are some stationary CD-players which will start to play
automatically when power is applied, but I believe it's only more
expensive 'studio' players.
(I know there's one at a local radio station where my father sometimes
fill in as a technician.)
Which brand of CD-player were you thinking of using?
And does it have to be a CD-player?
Sony's MD-players have a very simple remote control.
You just connect different sized resistors between two wires, which
should be possible to implement from a BS2 (or even a BS1)

i'm an artist and relativley new to the stamp. i'm wondering if it is
possible to use the stamp to control a cd player. at the very least,
i just need it to play a cd. i'm not concerned with ff or rew. if i use
the stamp to control the power to the cd player can i make it play
automatically when power is given to the player. if so, how do i
go about this. thanks in advance for any help. it is greatly
appreciated.
thanks again
