i'm an artist and relativley new to the stamp. i'm wondering if it is
possible to use the stamp to control a cd player. at the very least,
i just need it to play a cd. i'm not concerned with ff or rew. if i use
the stamp to control the power to the cd player can i make it play
automatically when power is given to the player. if so, how do i
go about this. thanks in advance for any help. it is greatly
appreciated.
thanks again

Are you talking a portable or a house type cd player? Turning it on and off
should be simple in either case. Use a relay for a house type, and a
transistor for the portable type.
If the cd player has an IR remote, you could make the Stamp control it
through IR. Otherwise, I think it gets tricky to directly hack the cd
player.
I think there have been some threads before on this topic, you might search
the archives.

Or, if your CD player uses the Philip RC-5 IR protocol, you could
control via the IR Buddy product.
