OK to connect BS2SX to car power?

Im sure this must be FAQ, but I couldnt find it in a search...
The doc I have on the BS2SX says its OK to use up to 15vdc on the Vin
pin, but elsewhere I read 12. I want to connect it to a car power
supply, which although 12v, is more likely 13.8-14.4 in use... Any
pointers?

electrical system. If you insist on routing power directly to Vin, let
me suggest you filter the supply heavily (LC circuit), to protect the
Stamp. I've powered a couple projects from cigarette lighter sockets,
but this voltage was always feeding a separate regulator that supplied
the Stamp.
